5 Health Benefits of Alcohol That Non-drinkers never Get

YES IT IS  !
But before expecting alcohol started being good to your health,ensure that you are a moderate drinker.  

 According to dietary guidelines - "Moderate alcohol consumption is having 1 drink per  day for women and two drinks per day for men "  But !  keep in mind, that, if you drink  regularly, it wouldn't be moderate anymore. A man shouldn't exceed 14 drinks and a woman shouldn't exeed 4 drinks in a week. 

     Here people often get confused what or how much  alcohol is supposed to mean by -"one drink". Skipping the puzzling calculations let me tell you  the  volume of '1 drink' varies from different categories of alcoholic drinks (ie.. Beer, whisky, wine etc.) depending upon thir alcoholic content. In my country  I may suggest  45- 50 ml of whiskey or any hard drink , 300 - 350 ml of beer (preferably light) and 150 ml of wine  can be taken as 1 standerd drink . Now before you start calculating your last weeks alcohol consumption to find out whether you fall in moderate boozers tribe or not let me tell you the hidden goodness of alcohol consumption.

Researchers reveled that moderate consumption of alcohol raises high density lipoprotein, HDL or good cholesterol . And higher level of HDL is associated with greater protection  against heart disease. Besides moderated drinking helps our metabolism to prevent formation of small blood clots that can block the arteries in the heart , neck and brain ,the ultimate cause of heart attacks and most common kind of stroke. 



FORGET THE COMMON COLD

Drinkink eight to 14 glasses of wine per week ( particularly red wine ) surprisingly decreases arround 60 % risk of developing cold. According to new York times , the researching scientists from spain  suspected that this had something to do with the antioxidant properties in wine.
