Alcohol is now less injurious to health, learn to master on your drink

You are tired of trying a lot to quit, but couldn't help. Now you drink quite regularly and  3 pegs down is slowly becoming  your habit . And if a single  day  of your life without alcohol is  really tough to imagine , then man, the time has come to learn to master on alcohol, if you really want to stay healthy in the rest of your life.
The best option is to quit drinking somehow. because there is no room of advocacy on how injurious is alcohol to health. But i would like to let this noble work to be done by professionals or rehab gurus and rather i would try to give some good and scientific tips of how you can drink  alcohol safely with minimal harm to your health . And people who  implemented these tricks of safe drinking, i believe, it never happened to them to take a decision of quitting  and i  too never tried to quit alcohol. Because alcohol is not always bad until you learn to master it. Love alcohol ,drink moderate,  follow these tips.

#1.DRINK MODERATELY   According to dietary guidelines- "Moderate alcohol consumption is having 1 drink per  day for women and two drinks per day for men "
The USDA, the CDC and the NIAAA all define moderate drinking as no more than 2 drinks per day and 14 per week for men, and no more than one per day and 7 per week for women (or people over 65). Additionally the NIAAA states that men who drink more than four drinks per occasion, or 14 per week, and women who drink more than 3 drinks per occasion or more than 7 per week are at risk for drinking problems: this implies that there is a no risk (or "risk-free") drinking category for men who drink 4 or fewer drinks per day and 14 or fewer drinks per week, and for women who drink 3 or fewer drinks per day or 7 or fewer per week. The limits for men over the age of 65 are the same as the limits for women because tolerance generally goes down in men with age but not in women.
The reason for having these definitions is as follows: Because alcohol is beneficial to the heart, people who drink at the USDA moderate drinking limits are healthier than both abstainers and no-risk drinkers. Abstainers and no-risk drinkers are equally unhealthy. People who exceed the no-risk drinking guidelines are more at risk for health related consequences than people who do not drink at all.

Here people often get confused with what or how much  alcohol is supposed to be meant by -"one drink". Skipping the puzzling calculations let me tell you  the  volume of  'one drink'  varies from different categories of alcoholic drinks (ie.. Beer, whisky, wine etc.) depending upon thir alcoholic content. In my country  I may suggest  45- 50 ml of whiskey or any hard drink , 300 - 350 ml of beer (preferably light) and 150 ml of wine  can be taken as 1 standard drink.

#2. NEVER DRINK EMPTY    STOMACH   In countries like India most regular drinkers prefers to have drinks before their routine meals and its a common notion that after a healthy food alcohol doesn't go down easily thus they find no tendency to drink when they have food. But studies says the most harms caused to a human body from alcohol consumption is due to empty stomach drinking. here are the reasons -
  • Alcohol in empty stomach leads to fast and higher level of blood alcohol concentration along with most visible signs of intoxication because there is no calories (food) to slower the alcohol  absorption.
  • Alcohol in empty stomach causes feelings of warmth as well as decreased blood pressure and pulse rate
  • The  tissues of inner stomach wall  get irritated and  are damaged because of the inflammatory character of spirit which leads to acidity, gastric, ulcer or liver related diseases if alcohol is consumed  in empty stomach.
  • Empty stomach alcohol consumption may lead to digestive  system disorder and causing lake of appetite which may result in weakness, unwanted wight loss or lake in nutrition.
So, this is always good idea to have food that are high in fat, protein and dens carbohydrates to reduce the fifty percent side effects of alcohol . Alcohol on full stomach slower downs the intoxication, reduces the risk of gastric and liver problems, controls blood pressure or other harms to our body and with no doubt, it helps to limit alcohol intake   comparatively than alcohol in empty stomach.

#3. DRINK  SLOW AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE   Medical research says that a normal Liver of human body  takes around 1 hour to burn or break down 30 ml of portable alcohol..

Since approximately 15% of total alcohol consumed at a shot is absorbed into bloodstream in stomach while the rest 85% is to be burnt in the liver.
As mentioned above, a liver normally breaks downs 30ml of alcohol in a span of 60 minutes, without harming its tissues or leading much damages to itself . And liver of human body has self tissue recovery system, by which it re-builds the damaged tissues or naturally recovers infections caused by alcohol or other toxins if given a lower  load  and gap of time.
so, after consuming 30 ml of alcohol in a shot, if a liver is given all required time to burn it naturally, the metabolism wouldn't be effected much and thus the risk of liver diseases could be reduced down .

therefore it is advised not to pace up the drinking speed and avoid frequent shots or bottoms ups. A healthy way of drinking is no repeated shot before one hour if a standard drink is already down.

#4.DRINK  WATER ALTERNATIVELY  Alcohol causes dehydration . Its very important to stay hydrated with water.

If you r having spirits, ensure that your water intake is not the minimum because alcohol is diuretic and it speeds up the urine production. High concentrated spirit may cause harm to kidneys and also lead to urinary track infections.
If somebody finds the taste of the drink very flat due to high water ratio, having a glass of pure water alternatively after every drink or shot will fill up the  requirement of water needed  to stay hydrated.
Experts also says that, starting with a big glass of water and lemon and having sparkling water in the middle of drinks will force to stay hydrated and also helps to limit the alcohol intake as well as reduces the chances of hangover.

#5. EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT WHAT YOU DRINK

It is very important to know what you are drinking and why

you will find thousands of different alcoholic drinks in the liquor bar or wine shops. There are different categories of alcoholic drinks, ie.. Whiskey Brandy, Rum,Vodka, wine, beer, and many more. They have sub categories, different levels of alcohol content,  different qualities, different classes, different production styles, different brands etc.. and these things vary with places to places, climates and many ways.

Most importantly every single alcoholic drink may deal differently with each single human body. Besides all alcoholic drinks have their own service styles and combination with food you are having with it.
Therefore know what are you drinking and why, have some general tips

  • Do not drink anything that comes as a offer to you, check the quality, proof, alcohol percentage and the label.
  • Do not mix different types of drinks by yourself, because different  types of drinks reacts differently with each other and may lead to poisoning. If want have cocktail go to a reputed bar.
  • A drink which gives sudden kick is not always good. Try a superior class. Drink with gap, but do drink good drink.
  • Lower priced stuff gives good booze and saves money, but the money is being saved for the doctors, not you.
  • Strong beer doesn't make you strong. go light, stay healthy.
  • Do not mix ice with beer, it leads to dehydration.
  • Beer is very harmful to person who have problems in digestive systems.
  • Smoking with drinks increases up to 50% health risk.
